There really isn’t anything like gardening at home–there’s just something about it that makes all the hard work, patience, and dedication worth while. I find it to be very pleasing, not only to have that time for myself, but also to be able to create “worlds” and reap the rewards of that which I create.

Gardening at home can be fun, rewarding, and very enjoyable: aside from all of this, it’s not really that hard to get started. Here are a few things that you will need to get a small garden up and running in no time:

A small area that gets sun.

Organic potting mix or topsoil.

A way to water the area.

Pots, some sort of raised bed, or just till the ground.

Seeds.

A little time.

And a lot of patience.

You can take gardening as far as you want–from a huge backyard garden, to a very small patio garden–the choice is up to you. But in the end, gardening comes down to these fundamental steps: find an area that is suitable for what you want to grow, prep the area for its purpose, plant seeds, water the area accordingly, be patient and tending, and sit back and watch the garden grow.
